We go here monthly at this stage so it is no shock it made it into Sydneys best restaurants by budget. Although this sits in the middle of the road budget category, the value for money is great.

The best easy and on the go restaurants in Sydney

Although we love a nice meal out every now and then, we also adore a cheap eat. Below is our list of casual/ cheap eats and easy grab and go options.

  1. Bahn mis: We are BIG fans of Bahn mi, we certainly will create it's own blog for it soon. Our recommendations are definitely Vina Bakehouse, Chatswood and Pork Roll, Marrickville. Both venus offer delicious fresh ingredients and the perfect quantity of all ingredients.

  2. Sandwiches: Botegga, Manly is a must for your deli style sandwiches, try the focaccia for a heavier but delicious option or the piadiana for a (slightly) lighter option filled with flavour. S'wich sandwiches are delicious if you are want of a hearty sandwich on thick bread. The chicken schnitzel is our go to, the peanut chilli sauce is UNREAL.

  3. Pies, pies and more pies: Colm is a self proclaimed pie connoisseur, BIG FAN! It is one of the reasons we like to go to the Southern Highlands, because they have their very own pie trail. In Sydney, the best pie we have had has to be Upper Crust, Colaroy. We also really enjoy xxxx

  4. Pizza: Sydney is not short of a good pizza. We are personally fans of woodfired. Bella Brutta mentioned above is a great option for dine in pizza but Westwood, Redfern is a MUST if you are looking for a takeaway. They don't really offer seating so grab and go and you won't be disappointed.

  5. Chargrilled chicken: Controversial adding this in but Chargrill Charlies has certainly served us well from time to time. A Portuguese chicken chain, found in most suburbs where you can choose a range of chicken dishes alongside hot sides and salad. Ideal for when you need something quick, easy and reliable.

  6. Fishbowl: A fan favourite for a quick and convenient salad. Specialising in Poke bowl style salads you can choose from their range of salads or build your own. You will find these in most popular areas.
